The
AKRADINBOSOM [ah'-krah-deen' boh'-sohm] are the
Abosom (Deities) who animate the solar, lunar and planetary bodies which govern the 7-day week in Akan culture. These Abosom govern all natural cycles in Creation.
Akan culture is directly descendent of ancient Khanit (Nubia) and Kamit. We therefore find the same Deities, by the same names, executing the same functions in Creation in the culture of Khanit and Kamit as in Akan culture. Moreover, those Akan who were forced into North America during the Mmusuo Kese, the Great Perversity also called the Enslavement era, maintained Akan Ancestral Religion. In North America, Akan Ancestral Religion is called
HOODOO from the Akan term
Ndu (oohn-dooh') meaning 'medicine' from 'roots, trees, plant life'. The term also means 'to become heavy' with the spirit through spirit-possession and through spirit communication. These definitions can be found in the medutu (hieroglyphs) of ancient Khanit and Kamit.
The Akradinbosom inform the
Kradin or 'Soul-name' for all Akan people. The day of the week we are born on elucidates which Akradinbosom (Deity) was assigned to the individual pre-incarnation. The names
Kwesi, Akosua, Kwadwo, Adwoa, Kwabena, Abenaa, Kweku, Akua, Yaw, Yaa, Aaba, Kofi, Afua, Kwame and
Amma and their many variations reflect this reality. These akradin or Soul-names, also called day-names, continue to be used in the Hoodoo tradition in North America as well as the Caribbean and South America wherever Akan people were forced to migrate.
We see in the image above that the Akradinbosom govern the eleven major body-systems within the Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African~Black) individual. This is also true of the Great Divine Body of
Nyamewaa-Nyame (Amenet and Amen) the Great Mother and Great Father who comprise the Supreme Being. As shrines of the Akradinbosom it is critical that Afurakanu/Afuraitkaitnut (Africans) understand the nature and function of these Deities who regulate all aspects of life.
The Akradinbosom governing the eleven major body-systems are also manifest through Body of Asaase (Earth) including:
Black Earth, River Waters, Thermosphere (Ionosphere), Earth's Inner Core, Red Earth, Rain Waters, Thunder and Lightening, Winds and Magnetosphere, Stratosphere and Polar Axis
It was through our alignment with the Akradinbosom that we were guided by them through spirit-possession and spirit-communication to methods of healing, divination and effective tactics for waging war against the whites and their offspring to force the end of enslavement in the western hemisphere.
DUBAAKO is the Akan term for
Eleven. There are eleven Abosom (Deities) who comprise the unique collective called the Akradinbosom. In the eleventh year of the release of his first book
UBEN-HYENG - The Ancestral Summons Odwirafo Kwesi Ra Nehem Ptah Akhan published the first extensive analysis of the Akradinbosom by any scholar or ritualist - within Afuraka/Afuraitkait (Africa) or outside of Afuraka/Afuraitkait (Africa). Establishing nkommere, shrines, for the Akradinbosom and engaging them in ritual is a central component of
AKANFO NANASOM - Ancient Authentic Akan Ancestral Religion which includes
HOODOO - Akan Religion in North America, Obeah - Akan Ancestral Religion in Jamaica, Winti - Akan Ancestral Religion in Suriname, Komfa - Akan Ancestral Religion in Guyana and more.
DUBAAKO is our communal institutionalization of our veneration of the AKRADINBOSOM.
Our DUBAAKO training, cultural and ritual retreat is a training intensive on the Eleven Akradinbosom, their nature, function and role in Creation and the lives of Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African~Black) people. We include an analysis of how these Abosom (Deities) have different names according to our various Ancestral cultures including Yoruba, Ewe, Igbo, Ovambo, Fang and more.
Our annual retreat takes place on Memorial Day weekend. Our Ancestresses and Ancestors established the Memorial Day holiday, originally called Decoration Day, as a ritual evocation of their deceased Warriors and Warrioresses who fought to free us from enslavement.
Afurakani Ancestor capturing the white enemy.
Pin Point, Georgia. One of the towns established by free Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African) people of Gullah ethnicity in the late 12800s (1800s). The Pin Point Heritage Museum is part of a Gullah heritage tour in the Savannah area.
Vegan food, ritual and culture. Also Gullah-Geechee cultural education tour. Savannah is one of the seats of Gullah-Geechee culture where various Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African) nations united to wage war against the whites and their offspring to end enslavement and establish their own nation.
